Gerrit Cole pitched seven scoreless innings against the Tigers. He was dealing a perfect game until the second out in the 7th inning. Manny Banuelos made his MLB debut and pitched two scoreless innings. Jose Trevino went 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run. Aaron Judge went 4-for-5 and hit his 20th home run of the season. Matt Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run. The Yankees won 13-0.
Luis Severino pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out 10. Judge hit his 21st home run. Anthony Rizzo hit his 13th home run. The Yankees won 3-0.

Jordan Montgomery pitched 6.1 innings, struck out five, and gave up two runs. Joey Gallo hit his 6th home run of the season. Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-3 with a walk. The Yankees won in extra innings 5-4.
The Yankees go on the road to face two former teammates and the Twins. Jameson Taillon, Nestor Cortes, and Gerrit Cole are scheduled to pitch.
BOSTON RED SOX (27-27)
Nathan Eovaldi pitched six scoreless innings and struck out eight. Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a home run. Kike Hernandez went 2-for-5. J.D. Martinez went 1-for-4 with a walk. The Sox won 7-2.
Nick Pivetta pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out seven. Martinez went 1-for-5. Jarren Duran went 2-for-5. He was called up for Jackie Bradley Jr when placed on paternity leave. Bogaerts went 2-for3 with a walk. Alex Verdugo went 3-for-5. The Sox won 8-0.

Rich Hill pitched six innings, struck out five, and gave up one run. Rafael Devers went 2-for-3 with a walk and home run. Franchy Cordero hit his third home run of the year. The Sox won 5-2.
Next on the west coast trip is Anaheim. Michael Wacha, Garrett Whitlock, and Nathan Eovaldi are scheduled to pitch.
TAMPA BAY RAYS (31-23)
Shane McClanahan pitched six innings, struck out eight, and gave up two runs against the White Sox. Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a home run. Harold Ramirez went 2-for-4. The Rays won 6-3.
Drew Rasmussen pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out two. Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4. Yandy Diaz went 1-for-2 with two walks. The Rays lost 3-2.
