The Red Sox look to right themselves against the Orioles. The Yankees look to continue their winning streak.
NEW YORK YANKEES (16-6)
The Yankees faced the Royals over the weekend. Nestor Cortes pitched five innings, struck out three, and gave up two runs; one earned. DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-4. Anthony Rizzo hit his 9th home run of the season. Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-3 with a home run. Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4. Aaron Judge hit his 6th home run of the season. The bullpen of Jonathan Loaisiga, Chad Green, and Lucas Luetge had the Royals scoreless against them. The Yankees won 12-2.
Gerrit Cole started in game two. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out six. Gleyber Torres went 2-for-3. Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo went 2-for-2. Gallo left the game due to left groin tightness but he said that he feels fine and not worried. The Yankees won 3-0.

Luis Severino pitched five innings, struck out four, and gave up four runs; three earned. Judge hit two home runs in the game. Miguel Andujar went 2-for-4 before being optioned to Triple-A. The Yankees win their 9th straight and third sweep straight by the score of 6-4.
The Yanks head to Toronto next. It’s said that vaccination status should not be an issue. Jordan Montgomery and Jameson Taillon are scheduled to pitch.
BOSTON RED SOX (9-14)
The Red Sox were in Baltimore for the weekend. J.D. Martinez was out of the lineup but expected to play in game 2. Rich Hill started, pitched four scoreless innings, and struck out four. Tanner Houck returned from the restricted list and piggybacked off of Hill. He pitched three scoreless innings and struck out four. Christian Arroyo hit his first home run of the season. Rafael Devers went 2-for-4. Hansel Robles gave up his first run of the season and Matt Strahm got the final out. The Sox won 3-1.
Another start by Nathan Eovaldi. Another game runs aren’t coming across for support. Eovaldi pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight. He took a no-hitter into the 6th inning before Cedric Mullins got a double. Trevor Story and Rafael Devers went 2-for-5. The Sox lost 2-1 on an error thrown by Hirokazu Sawamura when Robinson Chirinos bunted with two men on.

Nick Pivetta pitched 4.1 innings, struck out five, and gave up three runs. Martinez returned to the lineup and went 3-for-5 with a grand slam in the 9th inning. Devers went 2-for-5 and Jaylin Davis went 2-for-4. There was an over two-hour rain delay in the 6th inning and the Sox lost 9-5.
After a day off, the Angels come to town. Michael Wacha, Garrett Whitlock, and Rich Hill are scheduled to pitch. Shohei Ohtani was scheduled to pitch during this series but suffered from a tight groin so his status is unclear for now.
TAMPA BAY RAYS (12-10)
Carlos Correa and the Twins came into town. Corey Kluber lasted six innings, struck out six, and gave up the only run the Twins scored. Josh Lowe and Mike Zunino hit their first home run of the season. Yandy Diaz and Wander Franco both went 2-for-4. The Rays won 6-1.
Shane McClanahan pitched five innings, struck out 11, and gave up three runs. Taylor Walls hit his first home run of the season. Randy Arozarena went 1-for-4. The Rays lost 9-1.
Josh Flemming went 3.2 innings, struck out one, and gave up six runs; five earned. Arozarena went 2-for-4. Manuel Margot went 1-for-4. The Rays lost 9-3.
The Rays head west to Oakland to face the A’s. Drew Rasmussen and Corey Kluber are scheduled to pitch.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (15-8)
Yusei Kikuchi faced the Astros in game one. He lasted 2.2 innings, struck out four, and gave up four runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr hit his 6th home run of the season. Matt Chapman went 2-for-5 with a home run. Santiago Espinal went 2-for-5. Raimel Tapia went 4-for-5 and Tyler Heineman went 2-for-3. The Jays lost 11-7.
Jose Berrios pitched 5.2 innings, struck out five, and gave up one run. George Springer went 2-for-3 with two home runs. Bo Bichette and Lourdes Gurriel Jr went 2-for-4. The Jays won 2-1.
Kevin Gausman took the mound and pitched seven innings, struck out 10, and gave up two runs. Bichette hit his third home run. Springer went 0-for-3. The Jays won 3-2.
The Yankees come into town for three games. Ross Stripling, Alek Manoah, and Yusei Kikuchi are scheduled to pitch.
BALTIMORE ORIOLES (8-14)
Kyle Bradish made his MLB debut. He pitched six innings, struck out two, and gave up three runs; two of them earned. The defense added two more errors to their season total. Ryan Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a home run that was the only run the O’s scored. Austin Hays went 2-for-3 with a walk. The O’s threatened in the 9th but couldn’t bring more runs across. They lost 3-1.
Spenser Watkins pitched 4.2 innings, struck out three, and gave up one run. The offense was being no-hit through five innings. Cedric Mullins went 2-for-4. The game went into extra innings and the O’s won 2-1 on a bunt that resulted in a throwing error.
Jordan Lyles pitched six innings, struck out six, and gave up one run. Rougned Odor went 2-for-5 with a home run. Anthony Santander went 2-for-3. Mullins went 2-for-5. The O’s offense scored six runs after the rain delay. They won 9-5.

The Twins next stop in the AL East is Baltimore. Tyler Wells, Bruce Zimmermann, Kyle Bradish, and Spenser Watkins are scheduled to pitch.
OUTSIDE THE AL EAST
We have a first no-hitter for the season. The Mets pitched a combined no-hitter on Friday night. They used five pitchers to complete the no-hitter. Tylor Megill started and lasted five innings. Drew Smith, former Yankee, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo, and Edwin Diaz followed. This is the second no-hitter in franchise history for the Mets. It is also the 17th combined no-hitter in MLB history.
