NEW YORK YANKEES (41-16)
Jameson Taillon struggled but managed to keep the lead against the Twins. He pitched four innings, struck out three, and gave up four runs. Aaron Judge went 2-for-5 with a walk and home run. Giancarlo Stanton hit his 12th home run of the year. Anthony Rizzo hit his 14th home run of the year. The Yankees won 10-4.
Nestor Cortes pitched 4.1 innings, struck out three, and gave up four runs. Aaron Hicks went 2-for-3. The Yanks lost 8-1.
Gerrit Cole pitched 2.1 innings, struck out two, and gave up seven runs. Three home runs in a row in the first inning. Joey Gallo went 2-for-5 with two home runs. Rizzo and Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4 with a walk each. Josh Donaldson also went 2-for-4. LeMahieu went 2-for-5. The team with the most comeback wins this season won 10-7.

Another former Yankee will be in the Bronx this weekend. The one-time Yankee favorite Clint Frazier, and the Cubs. Luis Severino, Jordan Montgomery, and Jameson Taillon are scheduled to pitch.
BOSTON RED SOX (30-28)
Michael Wacha pitched a complete game shutout against the Angels. He also had six strikeouts. J.D. Martinez went 2-for-3 with a walk. Christian Vazquez went 1-for-4. Rafael Devers went 1-for-4. The Red Sox won 1-0.
Garrett Whitlock pitched four innings, struck out five, and gave up four runs. Martinez went 2-for-5. Trevor Story went 2-for-5. Bobby Dalbec went 2-for-5. Kike Hernandez went 1-for-5. Devers went 2-for-4 with a walk. Xander Bogaerts exited the game in the 9th inning due to left shoulder tightness. The Sox won in extra innings, 6-5.
Nathan Eovaldi pitched five scoreless innings and struck out five. Later it was revealed that he had tightness in his hip but still pulled through. Bobby Dalbec went 1-for-3 with a walk. Christian Vazquez went 1-for-5. Kevin Plawecki went 1-for-3. The Sox won 1-0.

Nick Pivetta pitched five innings, struck out 11, and gave up four runs. Alex Verdugo went 2-for-4. Christian Arroyo went 1-for-4. Martinez went 1-for-4. The Red Sox lost 5-2.Â

TAMPA BAY RAYS (34-23)
Jeffrey Springs pitched six scoreless innings and struck out five against the Cardinals. Manuel Margot went 1-for-4. Ji-Man Choi went 1-for-4. Taylor Walls hit the walk-off home run in the 10th inning. The Rays won 4-2.
Corey Kluber pitched five innings, struck out five, and gave up three runs. Margot went 4-for-5 with a walk. Choi went 3-for-5. Randy Arozarena went 3-for-5. The Rays won 11-3.
Shane McClanahan pitched eight innings, struck out nine, and gave up one unearned run. Choi hit his 5th home run of the year. Kevin Kiermaier went 2-for-3. The Rays won 2-1.
The Twins host the Rays over the weekend. Drew Rasmussen, Shane Baz, and Jeffrey Springs are scheduled to pitch.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (33-23)
Ross Stripling pitched five scoreless innings and struck out two against the Royals. Bo Bichette hit his 9th home run of the year. Vladimir Guerrero Je hit his 13th home run of the year. Santiago Espinal went 2-for-5 with a home run. Matt Chapman went 2-for-5. Lourdes Gurriel Jr went 2-for-4. The Jays won 8-0.
Alek Manoah pitched six scoreless innings and struck out four. Bichette went 2-for-2 with three walks. Alejandro Kirk went 4-for-5. Espinal went 3-for-4. The Jays won 7-0.

Yusei Kikuchi pitched 0.2 innings, struck out two, and gave up three runs. Zack Collins went 2-for-4 with a home run. Springer and Bichette went 2-for-5. The Jays lost 8-4.
The Jays head to Detroit to face Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers. Jose Berrios, Kevin Gausman, and Ross Stripling are scheduled to pitch.
BALTIMORE ORIOLES (24-34)
Kyle Bradish pitched 4.2 innings, struck out five, and gave up two runs against the Cubs. Cedric Mullins hit his 6th home run. Austin Hays went 2-for-4 with a home run. Jorge Mateo and Trey Mancini each homered. The O’s won 9-3.
The second game was postponed due to the weather. It will be made up on August 18th.Â
The O’s head to Kansas City for the weekend. Bruce Zimmermann, Tyler Wells, and Dean Kremer are scheduled to pitch.
OUTSIDE THE AL EAST
The Angels fired Joe Maddon prior to game two against the Red Sox. Phil Nevin will manage the rest of the season.
