Events start at 11 am.  We’ll keep an eye on trades and players who slide.  We have more Glenn Kaplan Scouting Reports to share.

-St Louis Blues have traded Ville Husso to the Detroit Red Wings for a 3rd round pick.  Detroit has inked Husso to a 3-year deal.

-Washington Capitals send Vitek Vanecek and E 46 overall to the New Jersey Devils for picks # 37 and # 70.

-Elliotte Friedman reports Carolina is trading Tony DeAngelo to Philly for a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick.  Not finalized.

2-34)Montreal Canadiens- Owen Beck

Height: 6’0″

Weight: 185 lbs

Last Amateur Club: Mississauga

League: OHL

Age: 18

Stats: 68 games, 21 goals, and 30 assists, plus/minus rating of 17. Playoffs 10 games, one goal, five assists, plus/minus rating -1.

NHL Comp: N/A

What are the Habs getting in Owen Beck? Feisty two-way center with great speed and who is terrific on face offs. Middle six projection. #NHLDraft — Brock Otten (@BrockOtten) July 8, 2022

2-41) Buffalo Sabres:  Topias Leinonen

Height: 6’5″

Weight: 233 lbs

Last Amateur Club: JYP Jr.

League: Finland Jr.

Age: 18

Stats: 21 games played, 2.28 GAA, .916 save percentage, and two shutouts.

NHL Scouting Report: He has had his ups and downs overseas, but has some potential to be really good. Topias Leionen is probably the best goalie in the 2022 NHL Draft and will see how it all plays out when the time comes for Leinonen and needs more reps.

NHL Comp: Pekka Rinne

2-48) Seattle Kraken: Jani Nyman

Height: 6’3″

Weight: 212 lbs

Last Amateur Club: Ilves

League: Finland

Age: 17

Stats: 10 games, 0 goals, 1 assist, plus/minus rating 0.

Scouting Report: He has scored goals in other leagues in the past and has a wicked shot from the right side on the power play, but needs to work on his skating ability and is very raw. Jani Nyman is not a part of a very strong right-winger class but could be good value in the later second round and if available in the third round, he could be a potential steal.

NHL Comp: Travis Konecny

2-54)Boston Bruins: Matthew Poitras (C)
